Hello all
I am running Exchange 2007 sp2 I have one mailbox server and two HT\CAS
serves in a WNLB configuration. I have configured and setup exchange web
services and autodiscover. If I dismount the public folder store users
cannot see details of meetings they book into resource mailboxes, they can
see free\busy info, but no details. If I mount the public folder store then
they can see the details of the meetings. Also I have also noticed once the
publicfolder store has been dismounted, some users cant see the GAL, but
other users can. All clients are running Outlook 2007 sp2.
It seems my exchange server still has some dependency on the public folders,
but I cant figure out what it is? when I test to see if autodiscover is
working the test comes back successful, and I have not problems downloading
the OAB.
Thanks for any suggestions

That sounds really odd since the details are not in the free-busy system
public folder or the Availability Service, they are read from the calendars
in the mailboxes themselves. You should make sure that Web Services,
particularly the Availability Service, is properly configured and
operational.

Exchange 2007 & Outlook 2007 autodiscover service Exchange Server Hi, I believe I have a pretty good handle on how the autodiscover service works in Exchange 2007. I have everything setup so that autodiscover works externally - it successfully gives the right configuration web services (availability service, OOF, OAB and Unifed Messaging service) and they all work fine. Outlook Anywhere even works correctly (as configured by the autodiscover service). These services are all published of each of the Exchange web services. If I choose the "test autoconfiguration" option in Outlook 2007 I can see that these are all set correctly. My issue is that my internal these services to the internet using basic authentication. What I do not understand is why Outlook 2007 is ever trying to access the external versions of the various Exchange web service
