Exchange Server - Exchange 2010 Issue

Asked By Robert Wolfe on 04-Mar-11 10:02 PM
Hi folks!

First time posting to the newsgroup, but thought I would ask here.

I am running Exchange 2010 with Windows Server 2008 R2 and have SP1
installed for the OS. The problem I am having is that when I log into
the server using my domain administrator username and password, I do not
have access/see all available options in the Exchange Management
Console, so I am not able to make any configuration changes. Is there
anything I need to do with my access privileges in order to get this to
work?

Any help anyone can provide or at least a heads up on repairing the
issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Does your Adminstrator has Organization Menagement membership in AD, also
check that Administartor has RBAC membership of Organization Management.

Well, considering I am the Administrator :) I will have to check this
out and reply back with my results. I spent 5 hours on the phone with
Microsoft yesterday and got nowhere ... which is really surprising ...
and all I ended up with was two cordless phones with batteries that
needed to be recharged :(

Okay, I do see myself as having Organization Management membership in
AD, however, cannot seem to locate where to verify RBAC membership of OM
membership.

Ok, it looks like deleting that membership from the account and then
re-adding it again fixed the problem. Wierd that that happened at all,
though.
