My company is a Novell Groupwise shop and currently running Office 2003
(wothout Outlook 2003). As part of Groupwise to Exchange 2007 migration
project, we neeed to decide just to install Outlook 2007 on the workstations
so that it will be a mixed Outlook 2007 and rest of office 2003, or to move
completely to Office 2007 (THis will need a lot of planning since we are
talking about over 15000 workstations).

Do you know what functionality you will loose by having Outlook 2007 and
rest of Office 2003 suite ?

You might take a look at this:
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/featurecomparison.mspx

Additionally if you haven't looked yet, there will be the additional cost of
Outlook 2007 CAL's. They are no longer included with Exchange.

I apologise if you misunderstood my question. Assuming we are definitely
going for Outlook 2007, how do you compare outlook 2007 in an environment
where rest of the applications in Office 2003 and in an all office 2007
environment.

I'm afraid I don't understand your question then.
Are you asking about interoperability?
i.e.; will Outlook 2007 behave when all the rest of the apps on the computer
are Office2003 based (like Word, Excel, etc?)?

Thats correct.
Option 1 : Outlook 2007 and Word,Excel,PP 2003
Option 2 : Outlook 2007 and Word, Excel, PP 2007 (Complete Office 2007)

Between options 1 and 2, what outlook 2007 features will be lost if we
choose option 1 ? I know some of the editing features are lost (such as
insering tables, background spell checking) in optin 1. Is there any
location where I can find a list of features that will be lost in this
configuration.

For this level of interoperability I would check in the office or outlook
newsgroups.

Outlook 2007 no longer uses Word as e-mail editor (it is not even an option),
so that should be a wash. For the rest, you might best post in an Office
newsgroup for the most help.

Exchange 2007 & Outlook 2007 autodiscover service Exchange Server Hi, I believe I have a pretty good handle on how the autodiscover service works in Exchange 2007. I have everything setup so that autodiscover works externally - it successfully gives the right configuration web services (availability service, OOF, OAB and Unifed Messaging service) and they all work fine. Outlook Anywhere even works correctly (as configured by the autodiscover service). These services are all published of each of the Exchange web services. If I choose the "test autoconfiguration" option in Outlook 2007 I can see that these are all set correctly. My issue is that my internal these services to the internet using basic authentication. What I do not understand is why Outlook 2007 is ever trying to access the external versions of the various Exchange web service
Is MS Outlook 2010 Compatible with Exchange 2003? Exchange Server Hello- - I took a (reckless) leap and tried to install the beta of MS Office 2010. Word and Excel installed and ran smoothly, but Outlook would never start. When I tried to open it, I got to the part where I select the Outlook profile i want to use, then it would crash. I removed the profile and created a new one. Still would crash. I decided to return Outlook to my previous version of 2007 and test around with Word and Excel, but I was not allowed to run Outlook
