Exchange Server - Migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2007.....2 questions??

1. I have moved several mailboxes over from the 2003 server to the 2007
server, but a few did not delete from the 2003 server. Is this ok? Does it
matter whether they delete from the 2003 server as long as they are listed in
the 2007 server?
2. Do the following mailboxes need to be moved as well? SMTP, System
Attendant and the System Mailbox. Does Exchange 2007 already have these
boxes or do I still need to move these as well?
Thanks in advance!

1. If by not delete, you mean they shrunk to almost nothing and are in a
disconnected state, that's a bug. There's a hotfix you can apply to solve it
if you like, but it's not necessary as the mailboxes will be purged when the
deleted mailbox time expires.
2. No, leave them.
WetBehindEar replied...
1. yes, so I will leave them.
2. I will not move those 3 mailboxes to the 07 box.
Michael you've been a huge help in this migration! Thanks! After these
mailboxes are moved whats next? I assume I remove the routing group
connector, direct the firewall to the new exchange box for incoming smtp
traffic and disable the exchange services on the 03 box for the time being
(until I feel comfortable then I will remove it). Am I missing anything?
Michael Dragone replied...
Yes.
You have to replicate any Public Folders you have over, move the OAB
generation process to the 2007 box, upgrade address polices, etc.
See the link below for all the details.
