Have a look for details on the IIS SMTP server (e.g
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8b83ac7t.aspx)
or send it direct to your ISP's smtp server if you can get the details from
them.

Thanks for reply Anthony, and sorry for cross posting.
I've got no problems installing smtp or pop3 on the server.
The problem is getting email outside my network.
My ISP requires authentication (passing username and password), the
application only has 1 setting "Outbound SMTP server" so I can't use
the ISP unless one of you smart guys can tell me how... and that's
where I am.
Thanks.

In that case, set up your own smtp and let the application send to that. You
can set up your own smtp in IIS. You must set it up to only allow Relay (i.e
dropping off outbound mail) from the local LAN, or from the server. You must
not allow anything else to relay.

Then set your smtp server to forward to the ISP's smtp, and provide the
necessary authentication there.

Windows Server - Thanks again for your reply.

Thanks again for your reply.
I tried setting the IIS smtp, but the server wouldn't authenticate any
client or cdosys (The server rejected the sender address. The server
response was: 530 5.7.3 Client was not authenticated)....
I tried using the domain admin, local admin, creating mail boxes in
POP3... nothing.
Then I came a cross: Local SMTP Relay Server http://www.getfreefile.com/localsrv.html,
and it just worked first time.
Thanks for your help.

RPC-over-http not connecting through NAT gateway Exchange Server I'm running Exchange Server 2007 on Windows Server 2008 with an SSL certificate issued by Equifax. I have a couple of laptops running over-http and they work fine when attached to the internal network where the Exchange server resides. When I take the laptops offsite, however, they will not connect to Exchange, even SSL with no problem. (TCP port 80 and port 443 are forwarded to the Exchange server through the NAT gateway). How can I go about troubleshooting this problem? Thanks, Richard. Autodiscover issues - Exch2007, Win2003 OS Exchange Server I have a single exchange 2007 server running on Windows 2003. All services are running on this server and it is inside our firewall. I have port 443 open through the firewall to this server and I purchased and installed a SAN certificate. I am using this site to test everything configured correctly but I cannot find the issue. Based on this article, http: / / technet.microsoft.com / en-us / library / dd439392.aspx, I checked the DNS resolution on the Exchange server and domain controllers and all seems correct. I checked the ValidPorts registry key. It only has the internal server address in this value (EXCH_SERV.domain.local:6004 , etc). Should it also have the external
PF usage much too high Exchange Server Hello! Recently we installed an Exchange Server 2007 with SP1 and SP1-Rollup 1 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x64 Standard Edition. There´s 2 GB of RAM and a swap file with 2.0 - 4.0GB. After a reboot of the server the PF usage is about 1.5GB, what seems to be quite normal for me the moment it´s on 3.2GB), so it uses the swap file and the server becomes very slow.
